January - Feb 2003 (Thailand and Korea travels)

Thailand and Korea
In January 2003 we enjoyed the New Year in Seoul and we also went to Thailand (visiting Koh Samet and Bangkok). Unfortunately, Valeria and I were taking photos of all the great places in Thailand without a film in the camera. I don't know how that is possible but that's what happened. From talking to people since, it seems that many of you have done something similar. Anyway, there are no photos from the Thailand trip.

Night out with friends in Seoul, Korea

Christmas Day was spent in an Irish bar called 'Gecko's' in Seoul, Korea - for a total of 60,000 won (about £30) we had received a delicious Western style roast dinner buffet and deserts. For the New Year, like most people around the world, we celebrated the New Year with a few drinks and with friends. The picture/s above and directly below show several of the friends who we shares the New Year with. Photo above includes the Irish girls from right to left - Ide, Helena and Alison. Below right Valeria and Sam (from Hereford,UK).

Below in absence of the Thailand photos, more pictures we have taken from the local market in Seoul. Below you can see a pig's head which lays ready for sale. Its very common to see pig's head and its at least better than the sight of the rear end of the pig. Also shown below are large bags of chili peppers.

Sea food is very popular in Korea and you can buy strange looking dried fish to chew on, from most street markets, and you can also buy fresh fish from many places. I'm not sure what kind of fish they are. Will find out.
