Here are finally the images of the big
day! Below left you can see Valeria and me outside
the city hall in Catania, Sicily (Italy), walking
out having just been married. With the final stress
of organising the wedding over and with the excitement
of know being part of La Famiglia, we enjoyed
the reception on the beach. Below right, the happy
couple during the reception.
As you've probably noticed, we didn't want the
wedding to be in anyway traditional hence we chose
city hall and Valeria also wore a red Chinese
style dress while I wore a suit with NO tie. I
hate ties.

In the picture below you can see some
of Valeria’s relatives (from the left:
her cousin Fabio, uncle Nino,
auntie Silvia and cousin Gabriella). We stayed
on one of the beach side apartments for the
night.

The day after the wedding we went for a
trip in a minibus with friends and relatives,
on the Etna and to the beautiful village
of Taormina, Sicily. Below on the left,
there is a view of a house which was covered
by lava during a recent eruption and now
only the roof remains. The top of the Etna
isn’t the best place to settle down.
Below right Helena Conlon (from Ireland,
who came all the way from Korea with her
Korean boyfriend) and Paul's Auntie Rosemary,
during their ascent to the castle of Castelmola
(a village perched on a hill, above Taormina).
Below a view of the square underneath
the castle of Castelmola, overlooking Taormina.
It seemed like a scene from a mafia movie. They
seem to live a very relaxed life.
The area of Taormina really is very beautiful and
I recommend anyone visiting Sicily to visit this
area. Below left, Valeria enjoying her first swim
as a married woman. On the right is another view
from the castle of Castelmola. Whichever
way you turn, the view is spectacular.
Below left, myself outside a gate
by City Hall, considering the wiseness of getting
married.
On the right, a picture of our wedding cake, which
was in the shape of a sunflower.
We only usually show pictures
that we ourselves have taken, but this photo
I think is great thus have included it. The
picture was taken by our friend Louise Dickinson,
as we all went to Taormina the day after the
wedding, on a mini-bus we hired.
Finally, Valeria’s family under a canopy
during the party on the beach. From the left:
Valeria’s mum Tecla, her auntie Franca,
her granny Agata, her untie and uncle Silvia and
Antonio. Last but not least, Antonio’s dog
Nico, who is a member of the family and from whom
Antonio and his wife Marisa never part.
